Saturday night, the fam and I made a trip out to Arlington to the Levitt Pavilion. What a cool place this is. We had never been before and we weren't quite sure what to expect.
The stage is rather impressive - love the gorgeous wood surrounding it. |
First of all, it's free - you can't beat that. The concert is free and the parking is free. You can bring your own food and your own beverages - just no glass containers. You bring your own lawn chairs and blankets. We even saw some kids with hula hoops and scooters. You can bring your dogs too, but only if they're well-behaved. Needless to say, we didn't bring Rita, the big red goofball.
Our main reason for going to the Levitt Pavilion was to see Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis. I've always been a huge fan of both of these talented Texas singers/songwriters. I saw them, along with Charlie Robison and Jack Ingram, perform years and years and years ago in Archer City, Texas at the Royal Theater.

Bruce and Kelly sounded just as good as ever.
We had a great time sitting under the stars, watching our kids dance, having a couple of beers, and listening to some great music. Heck, my husband and I even did a little two-steppin' in the parking lot.
Will we go again? You better believe it.
Be sure and catch my weekly write-up of Texas Music happenings in and around Fort Worth. I'll list who's playing at the Levitt Pavilion and other places around Fort Worth.
