Recipe To Try - Banana Bread
I've never been a huge fan of banana bread...until now. This stuff is delicious! I got the recipe from Plenty of Lesley. The only thing I did different was add 1/2 teaspoon or so of cinnamon. A splash or two of vanilla would be awesome. I also used butter instead of margarine. I think the lower temperature for a longer amount of time is what makes this bread so good.
Want to give it a try? Here's the recipe:
The Best Banana Bread
1 3/4 cup flour
2/3 cup sugar
1 cup mashed bananas (about three bananas)
1/3 cup butter
2 eggs
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon Baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
splash or two of vanilla
Grease your loaf dish or spray with pam. Bake for 1 hour 275 degrees. Let sit for half an hour before cutting.

Recipe To Try - Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites with Nutella Swirl
These lovely things are called Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites with Nutella Swirl. I got the recipe from Everyday Insanity.
Oh me, oh my, these things are delicious!
They're so little and cute that they can't possibly be fattening, right?
It might be a little bit fattening, though, when you make a second batch of these and find yourself eating the WHOLE BOWL OF ICING! Now, I wouldn't know a thing about that.
Now for the funny of the day:

| Lemon Ice Box Pie |
I wish WD-40 had a blog or something to make it easier to find his recipes. The easiest way I've found to search for recipes on his page is to pull up his page on Facebook and then do a search to find the word you're looking for.
Here's his recipe for Lemon Ice Box Pie:
Lemon Ice Box Pie
1 can eagle brand sweet condensed milk
¼ c. lemon juice
2 egg yolks beaten
1 graham cracker crust
Pinch salt
1 small container cool whip or whipped cream
Using a sauce pan over med heat add milk, lemon juice and beaten up egg yolks heat until thickens. Pour into pie crust and chill for 2 hrs. before serving. Top with cool whip or whipped cream. Enjoy.
Be sure and "like" his page on Facebook so you can get all his yummy, down-home recipes.

Recipe To Try - PW's Good Morning Muffins
This is another great recipe to try. It's Pioneer Woman's Good Morning Muffins. One of the ingredients is orange marmalade. Can I admit something here? I had never in my life eaten marmalade. I've danced to the song Lady Marmalade but I've never eaten marmalade. Boy, have I been missing out.
This recipe makes quite a few muffins so you'll be able to eat some and give some away to your in-laws or your neighbors or your cousins or your other brother Darrel.

Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe - Peachy Keen Cobbler

| Easy Peach Cobbler Recipe - Peachy Keen Cobbler |
I have a folder that has some handwritten recipes that my mother got from my grandmother's cousin's wife, Christine, who lived in Arkansas. You follow me? I loved this lady. She could cook like nobody's business. I mean, she could COOK now, y'all. She could fish. She could hunt. She rode four-wheelers. She didn't mind when my brother used the pink flamingos in her yard for target practice. She was awesome. I have nothing but good memories of sweet Christine. I really thought a lot of her.
So you can imagine my excitement when one day my mother brought me a folder with some handwritten recipes of Christine's. One of them said: Essie's Cobbler. Since Christine had prepared for us THE BEST PEACH COBBLER I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE, I was jumping for joy when I saw the Essie's Cobbler recipe.
Oh, sweet Essie, I think I love you. You must be a relative of Christine's and I bet you can cook just like her, Essie.
I was reading through the recipe and it said to use No 2 can fruit. I was, like, what the heck does No 2 can fruit mean? So I googled it. I looked up "No 2 can fruit Essie's Cobbler". Turns out Essie gets around. Tons of recipes for Essie's Cobbler came up. So apparently Essie was not a close relative or probably not even a friend of the family, but that didn't matter because Essie can COOK, and therefore, I love her. (By the way, No 2 can fruit means, I think, maybe the size of the can. There's about 2 1/2 cups in a No. 2 can.)
Since there was no recipe for the fruit other than saying to add some sugar to the fruit, I came up with my own. Here's my recipe for peach cobbler.
Peachy Keen Cobbler
Batter (Essie's Batter)
1/4 cup soft butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
Heat oven to 375 degrees. Cream butter & sugar until creamy. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt and add to creamed mixture with milk. Beat until smooth.
Spoon into greased 2-quart casserole dish. Spread out over dish.
Fruit Mixture
2 15.25 oz. cans of peaches in heavy syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1//2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 tablespoon sugar to sprinkle over top
Pour peaches with syrup into bowl. Cut peaches in to bite-sized pieces if you want. Add in all other ingredients besides the 1 TBS of sugar. Stir. Pour fruit, juices and all, over batter. Sprinkle 1 TBS of sugar over fruit.
Bake 45 - 50 minutes @ 375.
It's mind-blowingly delicious.

Gram's Pink Stuff
When I was a little girl, my grandma used to make this fluffy, delicious, pink concoction when she had get-togethers at her house. She'd place a bowl of it right in the corner of the table just close enough to the edge of the table where my little arms could reach it. When nobody was looking (or so I thought) I'd swipe my finger through it every time I'd walk by. I simply adored this stuff.
One day when my Gram was putting this on the table, I said, What do you call that, Gram? She said that she didn't think it really had a name and she asked me what I'd like to call it. I said, Pink Stuff. So the name stuck.
If someone were to ask me what my favorite meal is, I'd say weenies and kraut, fried potatoes, beans and cornbread, and Gram's Pink Stuff.
Gram's Pink Stuff
1 can cherry pie filling (21-ounce can)
1 can crushed pineapple (8-ounce can)
1 can condensed milk (12-ounce can)
1 container thawed whipped topping aka Cool Whip (8-ounce tub)
Pour pie filling, pineapple and condensed milk in bowl and mix with hand mixer (you could mix by hand if you wanted the cherries to keep their shape, but I like mine all smooshed up). Fold in Cool Whip. Refrigerate.
